HOW TO GET ADVISED AND REGISTERED All new freshman and transfer students are advised and registered during an on-campus or telephone appointment through the New Student Advising and Registration Office. Call (970) 382-6985 for an appointment. Advising begins April 9 for students admitted for Summer Session II. Appointments are scheduled for one hour during the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please read the Preparing for Your Advising and Registration Appointment booklet prior to your appointment. New students received this booklet in the mail. You can also download it from this page. Students who are not advised and registered by Friday, June 1, will not be able to test their computer accounts during New Student Orientation on Sunday, June 3. Therefore, we recommend all new students admitted for Summer Session II get advised and registered by June 1. Registration after Monday, June 4 becomes not only more expensive but also quite difficult. Students who are not registered by June 5 will incur a late registration fee. In addition, after June 4, students must get the faculty members signature on a paper add slip to enroll in any course. Because of the fast-paced nature of Summer Session courses many faculty will not consent to adding students to their classes after the first day. Note: If a professor signs an add slip for a student to enter a closed class or to add a class late, this form must be filed at the Records Office no later than 3:30 p.m. June 8 (Census date). Move-in for students who have paid their deposit and who have confirmed on-campus housing assignments for Summer Session II is 2-6 p.m., Sunday, June 3. The process begins by checking in at the Mears Apartment Complex Office. New Student Orientation, a program designed to get new freshman and transfer students off to a good start at their new college, will be Sunday, June 3. Because of the important information conveyed at this program, New Student Orientation is required. The charge for this program is included in the matriculation fee charged to students their first term. Student reservations for this program are taken during the students advising and registration appointment with the New Student Advising and Registration Office. All students admitted for Summer Session II should strive to be advised and registered by Friday, June 1 so that they can test their computer accounts during New Student Orientation. Family members and guests are invited to attend the New Student Orientation program along with their students. Family members and guests who wish to attend must reserve ahead of time by calling (970) 247-7508. There is a $20 charge (due at check-in) for each family member or guest. This charge includes materials and a light lunch. Check-in for students and family members and guests Program Campus Tour The Bookstore, located at 10 College Union Building, is open summer hours (8 a.m. 4 p.m. Monday through Friday) between May 7 and August 10. The SkyCard Office, located at 58 College Union Building, across from the Post Office, is open Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. SkyCards can be made for new students with Summer Session II schedules beginning Monday, June 4. Students must present government-issued photo identification to have the SkyCard made: drivers license, passport, military ID, state/tribal ID. All students are required to have a SkyCard; the cost of the first card is included in the matriculation fee charged to students their first term. If this card is lost or stolen, you must pay $15 to replace it. No parking permits are required between April 30 and August 30, 2007. Students may park in any legal, non-restricted, or non-metered parking space. Parking & Traffic Regulations are available at Campus Police & Parking webpage.
